A Brief History of Sight Eye

Sight Eye Clinic has been an eye-health institute in the Holland, Zeeland, Hamilton, Hudsonville, and surrounding communities for decades. Originally founded in the 1930s by Dr. DeVries, the practice was in the center of the downtown Holland area. It was moved from 9th Street to a small building next to Holland Hospital in the 1970s. Under Dr. Don Dephouse, the practice expanded in the 1980s and continued to grow.

By the 2010s, Sight Eye Clinic had entirely outgrown its building, so in 2013, the practice moved to a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility on Van Hill Drive. With bright, open spaces and top-of-the-line in-office technology, our practice continues to grow and do whatever we can to better serve our patients.

About Our Team

Dr. Ed Leuschner, Dr. Bryan Huffman, and Dr. Peter Bast are all board-certified ophthalmologists (eye M.D.s) They strive to evaluate and incorporate the best evidence-based new treatments and technology to provide you with the best possible care. They are passionate about helping people see clearly to live full, healthy lives. As specialists in general ophthalmology, they do everything from well-eye exams and glasses prescriptions to eye disease and injury management, cataract and laser surgeries, eyelid procedures, and more.

Our dedicated, friendly staff is here to help you through your visit to our office, both before and after. You aren’t just a number or a random name on a patient chart—you are our neighbor, our friend, even our family. We understand that life is busy and doctor’s appointments can be stressful, so we do what we can to help accommodate your needs and make your visit as easy as possible for you.

Our expert optician Steve Borgman is certified and experienced, working in the field for more than 40 years.
